闭嘴 Shut Up, 2016

The characters say "闭" and "嘴," which together mean "shut up." The way this type of paper cut usually appears is with the character "囍," which is quite directly associated with matrimony. I associate "shut up" with marriage as well as what I'm expected to perform as a Chinese American woman in flattened model minority stereotypes.
